10K Race Route

The Dedham Run is a UKA affiliated race and is held under UK Athletics rules.

Below is a map of the intended race route – please refer to the blue route marked on the map below. There will be two water stations as indicated by “W”  (positions are approximate).

Elevation (m) against distance (km). Total elevation gain: 81.4m.

The 10k run starts opposite Parsons Field, not on the playing field. At 10.55am the race organisers will lead the 10k runners to the start.  The 3k run will commence 10 minutes at 11.10am from the same place.

All runners will need to collect their race number and timing-chip from outside the cricket pavilion on The Duchy Field (postcode CO7 6AH) from 9-10.30am on the day. Please note that car parking is NOT available at The Duchy Field. See below for parking directions.

BBQ, refreshments and entertainment will be available on the playing field.

From the South; Postcode: CO7 6AD

Dedham is on the Essex/ Suffolk border, about 50mins drive up A12 from the M25. Drive past all exits to Colchester. After Shell garage on left, take 3rd exit (including exit immediately after Shell garage), sign-posted Dedham and Stratford St. Mary (B1029). Turn right immediately off A12, past church and right at T-junction. Continue 1 mile to bridge over river Stour. Parking options are as set out below.


From the North; Postcode: CO7 6AD

Dedham is about 1hr 15mins drive from Cambridge down A14. At Copdock Interchange at Ipswich, turn right down A12 towards London.

After 10 mins driving, take next exit after East Bergholt, sign-posted Dedham. Turn left off A12 and continue 1 mile across the River Stour into Dedham.

  3. Field Car Park (Brook Street). Capacity 1,000. This will be sign-posted “Event Parking” and will be closed at 1.30pm prompt

There is no parking on The Duchy Field and no vehicular access via Southfields or The Drift.

We kindly request all participants AVOID parking on the Manningtree Road as this causes congestion around the road closure and jeopardises the safety of the runners.
